LIST: STORM CHASING TOURS

These are specialist storm chasing adventure tour operators operating mostly along 'Tornado Alley' in the midwest, USA, but also chasing hurricanes wherever they may come ashore. You can join them, spending hours in a minivan racing up and down the highways mostly on the prairies of Kansas, Omaha & Nebraska, but as far afield as Texas, Oklahoma, Eastern Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, eastern Montana, eastern Wyoming, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and other Midwestern states.

NB. Storm chasing is potentially a dangerous activity. Make sure your travel insurance covers you. You may not enjoy the same level of financial security and protection if things go wrong when you book directly with an overseas company.

Cloud 9 Cloud 9 have been storm chasing chasing since 1996.
F5! Tornado Chasing Safaris F5 claim their tours are more comfortable than others because they use a more luxurious vehicle than the usual minivan, with limited places. Their prices seem to reflect that.
Hurricane Chase Safaris Hurricane cameraman, Richard Horodner, claims to be "the most experienced and oldest hurricane chaser still alive" (it's the use of the phrase 'still alive' that worries me! - Ed) and usually takes a couple of guests with him each season.
Storm Chasing Adventure Tours Storm Chasing Adventure Tours (do they know their initials are SCAT?) offer 10-day & 5-day tours and are one of the best known operators in their field.
Silver Lining Tours Twister chasers in Tornado Alley. They claim to have the best storm interception rate of any operator.
Tempest Tours Experienced storm chasers operating during May and June in Tornado Alley. Tempest have a good track record for successfully intercepting storms... and plenty of pictures to prove it!
Tornado Express Tours Storm chasing since 1994 with prices at the lower end of the scale.
Violent Skies Storm chasers operating in Tornado Alley since 2001, with "vans with luxury captain seating combined with state-of-the-art mobile meteorology technology". They also have an office in the UK.
