Whitepod is an 'eco ski retreat' (launched in the 04/05 ski season with 5 pods) located above the Swiss ski resort of Villars and reached by skis or snowshoes. There are no cars, no buses and no other hotels. The camp consists of fifteen eco-pods (dome-shaped tents designed and manufactured in the USA) pitched on raised wooden platforms around a traditional Alpine chalet and is the creation of Swiss local, Sofia de Meyer. |
Notes
- Snowcarbon.co.uk is an independent website dedicated to helping skiers and snowboarders reach ski resorts by train from the UK. It has detailed information compiled by specialist ski writers and booking form links which are completed on the train company sites - IE Eurostar, Rail Europe and Deutche Bahn.
- SNO.mobi is a ski resort guide for mobile phones, with info on weather forecasts, snow reports, apres ski bars & restaurants, piste maps, ski schools, etc. It is not an "app" for smartphones/pda. It's a website for all mobile phones (hence the .mobi suffix). The main focus is on local activities and operators, but it'll start offering whole ski holiday packages from TUI and Inghams in winter 10/11.
