These are local cookery schools and travel companies specialising in gourmet and gastronomic special interest holidays.

Adventours Adventours (aka Armenia Explorer) offers a range of culture and adventure tours in Armenia and the Caucasus region including small group food and wine tours in Armenia with cooking classes and visits to vinyards.
Aldo Zilli Cooking School Celebrity chef, Aldo Zilli has set up an Italian cooking school in the fishing village of Francavilla al Mare in the Abruzzo region of Italy. At least two UK operators: Magic of Italy, and Sunvil feature cooking holidays there.
Annie B's Spanish Kitchen Spanish cookery courses in Vejer de la Frontera, Andalucia, for enthusiasts or family fun.
Bois Bourdet Aga cookery workshops in a 18-century French farmhouse B&B run by a British couple. Bois Bourdet, in Poitou-Charentes, is an AGA France Accredited Cookery School.
Burgundy on a Plate Small group wine and gastronomy tours in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards, from one to seven days, offering wine tasting, cooking classes, christmas breaks, truffles, cheese, etc... all set in medieval villages and rich landscapes.

Diana Seed's Culinary Adventures Italian cookery school with classes held in Rome, Puglia and on the Amalfi coast.

Sorrento Cooking School The Sorrento Cooking School is an Italian school of cooking for foreigners visiting the Amalfi and Sorrento Coast. It offers cookery courses and daily hands-on cooking lessons as well as culinary programs including food & wine tours in the south of Italy. (And if you want total Italian cultural immersion, they also offer Italian language courses!)
Spanish Thyme Traveller, The The Spanish Thyme Traveller specialises in gastronomic and culture tours in Valencia, SE Spain, mixing local food and wine with history and landscape.
Thai Kitchen Cookery School The Thai Kitchen Cookery School in Chiang Mai, Thailand, teaches real Thai cooking, completely hands on, with instructions in English.
Tuscan Women Cook A week of culinary and recreational activities in the medieval Tuscan hilltop village of Montefollonico.
Walnut Grove Cookery Gourmet cuisine and residential cooking classes in the Loire Valley south-west of Le Mans.
Washington Island Hotel Culinary School Chef, Leah Caplan, runs a variety of classes, from one-hour demonstrations to intensive two-day hands-on classes for up to 10 people. The focus is on ingredients found locally, and guest chefs are brought in to teach specialties such as bread baking, cooking with chocolate, etc
Yangshuo Cooking School Set up in Yangshuo, China by Australian, Pam Dimond, who ran a catering business in Sydney before becoming a tour guide in China. The school teaches a wide selection of Chinese dishes and styles. The Imaginative Traveller feature YCS in their Far East programme.

  • Epiculinary is an American specialist operator with a wide range of cooking courses and holidays in the USA, Mexico, Canada, France, Italy, Spain & Portugal.
  • Every day, the Beaune Tourist Office directs visitors to cookery courses with Burgundy’s talented chefs at such popular venues as the Auberge de la Toison d'Or. Often beginning with the secrets of shopping for the best ingredients in the market, these daily sessions feature dishes involving the wines themselves, with classic favourites such as coq au vin and œufs en meurette (poached eggs in red wine). Courses for two or more guests are designed both for those keen to get involved in the preparation and others who are happy to take notes for experiment later at home, and everyone gets to enjoy a slap up meal at the end of class.   • The New Orleans School of Cookery in the historic French quarter of New Orleans, runs 3-hour cookery classes for groups and individuals with Creole/Cajun experts teaching specialties such as Gumbo, Jambalaya and Pralines.
  • My Tasty Life is a Russian culinary school in the centre of St Petersburg offering 2-hour culinary demonstrations on contemporary and historic Russian cuisine, and day long group cooking lessons. There's no English version of the website but if you email them (info@avkusa.ru) they'll send you an English language description of what they do.
  • Betty's Cookery School in Harrogate, Yorkshire - part of Betty's & Taylors the cakes and tea brands - run non-residential cookery courses lasting from a few hours to 10 days. Many of the courses are focused on confectionary but they teach general and international cooking styles too.
