LIST: SPECIAL PLACES TO STAY IN THE NETHERLANDS

These are individual hotels, resorts, boutique hotels, inns, B&Bs and other 'accommodations' in Holland that we have come across and think are worth checking out.

Banks Mansion Hotel Amsterdam Glamorous 51-room hotel in a former bank building on the Herengracht Canal opened in 2004.
College Hotel, The Amsterdam Elegant 40-room hotel with, one hopes, top-level service. The College is just that. It is operated by students from the Amsterdam Hotel Management School, Bakery & Tourism - so there is more than tips at stake if they don't provide excellent service!

Grand, The Amsterdam Well-known 5-star luxury hotel in a lavishly decorated historic building in the centre of town with 131 rooms (+ 16 apartments).
Hotel Seven Bridges Amsterdam Plush 300-year old canalside hotel with good reviews from Which magazine.
Lloyd, The Amsterdam Eccentric 113-room hotel in a converted docklands building that looks like a Victorian school. Rooms are simple and modern.
Piet Hein Hotel Amsterdam Modern, family-run hotel in the museum district.
Seven One Seven Amsterdam Sumptuous guesthouse with eight richly decorated rooms.
** Rotterdam **
Hotel Bazar Rotterdam Something of an assault an the senses, the popular Bazar, in the central Witte de Withstraat area with its bars & clubs, is both a busy restaurant offering world dishes, and a hotel with 27 rooms decorated in Eastern, South American and African styles.
Mainport Rotterdam New (Opened May 2013. I was one of the first guests) 5-star design hotel on the quayside at Leuvehaven with views of the Erasmus bridge. Most of the 215 rooms have in-suite or in-bathroom jucuzzi spas and saunas.
Stroom Rotterdam New modern design hotel in a former power station on the waters edge. ("Stroom" means "power")
